Memorization of the entire Qur’an (Hifz) is one of the most highly regarded acts of worship (ibadah) in Islam, and Huffaz (the ones who memorize the Qur’an) are bestowed an exalted status in this world and the Hereafter.
Narrated Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her):
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Such a person as recites the Qur’an and masters it by heart will be with the noble, righteous scribes (in Heaven). And such a person who exerts himself to learn the Qur’an by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 4937)
Considering the importance of Hifz, the Academy puts a lot of emphasis on the students memorizing the Qur’an. The curriculum is designed to provide the standard pronunciation of Arabic words in accent, style, and melodies during their memorization process.
Abū Umāma said he heard Allah’s Messenger ﷺ say, “Recite the Qur’ān, for on the day of resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite it…”
(Mishkat al-Masabih 2120)
